I'm sure you all have already received the newsletter from Tammy K, but I figured I'd share it on here as well.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------South Florida Newsletter Hello To All My Fellow Burners,

This is an important email for everyone to read. If you want to just view the details, look at the bullets.

Camping this Year with the Super SoFl Burners
This year is a big year for South Florida Burners! We have created an Art Bus, have several logos to represent, we will be camping in a Village all together, and talking about future projects! There are several clans that have been camping together in the past at BM....Hookah Homestead, PVM, Mystic, Villains and Virgins, and Misc Burners with other clans. For BM ‘09 we will be camping all together and I am currently getting a head count. So far we have approx. 80 people camping together and now I need to find out who else will be camping with the SoFl group. The paperwork is due by the end of this month! For all you independents out there, like me, we will have our own clan (as of now there are 12 of us). Because we are not with a particular clan just means that we will be taking care of ourselves (self reliant-bring your own personal food, shelter, etc...). This is where you would go online to burningman.com and check out the first timers guide to be prepared! You may also call me directly.

* Please contact Tammy immediately if you are camping with the SoFl village at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it , on facebook email, or 561-289-4080. Also let me know if you will be bringing an RV or an art project.

Deadline to camp with SoFl: May 27th, more details to come if you are camping with the SoFl Village.

* If you plan on camping with the Super South, the following items will be desired for BM ‘09: Hammocks, Bean Bags, Blow up Chairs, Rugs, Decorative Lights, Extra Bikes, Shower Structure, Loading Dock/Ramp for Truck, Misc Fabrics. There will be more items needed for sure that will be announced later. Please contact Hannah (9Volt) for more information.

Container for Shipping
If you are interested in utilizing some sort of shipping device to haul out your BM stuff please fill out this form http://tinyurl.com/cz58df and contact Bill Ash. Also contact Bill Ash if you know of a loading dock in Reno, Sparks, Ferny, Fallon, Empire/Gerlach.

About the Bus
The blue bird is the first SoFl art project! The bus is called the Nauti bus. It will have a Nautical design/artwork on it eventually. :) As of now, it has been cleaned, gutted, and by the end of this weekend a rack on the top. If you are interested in working on it please call me directly, we only need about 8 people this weekend.

* If you have contributed to the bus in any way, please contact Erin Grubbs and let her know.
* If you would like to contribute to the bus or SoFl burners in general you can go through paypal and email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it , or contact Elaine Timmerman.
* If you would like to contribute materials, the following items are still needed:

plywood, stereo PA equip, flooring-rubber or linoleum, misc lighting, stripper brass pole, spare tire, 1 inch chain link, and other misc items.
Please contact Jroc or Paco if you should need more details or have questions about materials for the bus.

Logo
As you all know there has been several logos that have been designed. There was a large response for 3 of them. I personally feel like we should just keep all three, why not? I am sure the few that are liked will be used and/or evolve.

* If you would like to contribute or have a connection for making T-shirts, stickers, stamps, etc...with the SoFl logo design, please contact me or Jasmine Haynes directly.
* If you still have not voted, just go to the photos section on the SoFl burners facebook page and comment below.

Venue for Fundraising
We are currently looking for a venue to have a fundraiser for the SoFl burners. Ideally it would be a large piece of private property. Please contact me immediately! Also if you would be interested in buying a piece of property with a group of SoFl burners please call or email me.

Art Project for Next Year
If you are interested in contributing a large sum of money for next years art project, contact Bram or Juan. I promise the art project is spectacular and really represents South Florida! Project Estimated at $12,000. We will also be searching for grants.

Facebook Etiquette
Please don't be insulted if you are not added as a ‘friend.' Sometimes it's just best to meet the person first before adding them. Please don't write anything on anyone's wall about drugs or other possible things that may hinder that individual person/group (use your judgment). Why do the SoFl Burners not post addresses for invites? Several reasons: 1) For meetings - it's not a meeting to discuss how to prepare for BM nor to meet people, it's a meeting to make decisions about the SoFl BM peeps as a whole (art, camping, etc..) 2) We might not need many people working on a project 3) As the SoFl group gets larger, it's important to be discrete, be conscious and aware, no offense.

Other Misc Announcements

* Eventually there will be a form that SoFl burners can fill out promoting there business, skill sets and possible contributions. You will be able to keep it private or public to the SoFl group.
* If you need storage in Reno, contact Brian W. There will be a monthly fee depending on how much stuff you would like to store.
* If you are traveling to BM ‘09 via auto and can tow, please contact Jeff Silver (Sharky)
* If you have cotton, polyurethane, recycled styraphome (??spelling??) to be used for hand made bean bags, please contact Jeff Silver (Sharky)
* If you have been to BM, get all dressed up, and would like a portrait taken, please contact me, Tammy, I have example of the BM Series I have created. This BM series has already been shown in a gallery and I would like to continue the series.
* If you would like to announce something about BM related stuff, I can post it in the next newsletter.

If you should have any questions, concerns, or just want to chat for fun, please don't hesitate to contact me. I hope to see you at the meet and greet on Friday the 22nd, venue TBD, most likely in Ft. Lauderdale.
